Artist Statement
I am intrigued by the beauty of the natural world that surrounds us, and I use my camera to preserve fragments of memory and the raw essence of life in all its splendor.
Through my work, I aim to evoke a sense of wonder and to transcend time for viewers. Whether exploring the stark beauty of a natural landscape, the intricate details of urban architecture, or the quiet moments of everyday life, my photographs invite viewers to pause and reflect on the beauty of moments lost and found.
Inspired by revered pioneers such as Ansel Adams, Irving Penn, Saul Leiter, and Johannes Vermeer, I strive to showcase Californian landscapes and the American West, drawing from their technical mastery while cultivating my own visual voice.
Using a blend of medium format film and digital cameras, I meticulously scan and process each image or negative to achieve the desired tonal and compositional balance. The final prints are produced on museum-grade archival fine art paper that resonates with my vision.
By day, I work as a software engineer. I also find joy in hiking, allowing the outdoors to influence my artistic perspective.
